After a multi-year hiatus, Whirlpool is bringing back one of the most iconic advertising characters of all time this week at the AVB 2023 Summit in Las Vegas.
Maytag Man, played by actor Colin Ferguson, was resurrected at the BrandSource Expo on Tuesday. Dozens of appliance salespeople waited patiently in a specially designed kitchen/photo booth to meet Maytag and take photos with him.
Ferguson appeared in the role as the human incarnation of a Maytag refrigerator, and as a dedicated actor, he didn’t break out of character during filming, remaining robotic throughout.
