Install the new windshield seal The metal strip inside the new seal must first secure the edge of the windshield. Pull the two corners of the gasket away from the edge of the windshield. These parts are very delicate and there is a high risk of breakage. Fold the corners around the edge of the windshield, then press into the corresponding corner. Push the corners outward and slowly press the center of the seal around the edge. You can place one corner and move to another corner, but be careful when placing the other corner. Use the trim tool to raise the side trim of the windshield to make room for the steering wheel to fit properly. Use a cloth-covered hammer to tap the gasket to fully secure the metal strip. Next, lift up the back of the gasket and remove the protective tape covering the adhesive. Press the gasket down to remove the gap and remove the protective tape from the gasket. Hopefully this job will eliminate any water leaks or crazy wind noise coming from the top of your windshield.
