2008 Nissan Xterra Airbag Light Flashing

2008 Nissan Xterra Airbag Light Flashing – Hi guys I installed a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT and split the driver side to route the microphone to the map light. After connecting, everything works fine. The air bag light came on a few days later (about 3-6 days) when my mom went on a road trip in my car. I think I saved the battery for the installation, but not 100% sure. It has been almost a month since then. I TRIED THE REPAIR PROCEDURE, AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, BUT CAME BACK A MINUTE OF STARTING THE ENGINE AND DRIVING. I tried removing the battery, and resetting everything (trip odometer back to 0) but the airbag light stayed on.

Also, not sure if this is related, but about 1-2 weeks ago, my TPMS light came on for about a minute and then stayed on (without flashing) for a few days. He was defeated. All shots are 35-36 psi. Houston’s current heat could affect the system.

I had the same problem, fix it in the second or third reply to this post. It works like a charm.

Nissan Frontier Airbag Light Flashing? Need To Reset Or Sensor Flashing?

Which post? If you are referring to the new process, this will not solve the problem. THE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF, BUT CAME BACK ON AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE.

If the light comes back on after the reset, something is wrong. Open it back up, make sure everything is properly secured (including the airbag in the light) and try to reset it. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to pull the codes to find the problem circuit and fax accordingly.

You cannot turn off the light if there is a functional problem. Correct the problem until the light goes out.

Thanks for the advice. I removed and reinstalled the center console along with the radio and AC power and the light still came on. Correct me if I’m wrong, but when I do the repair process, the light goes off or the light stays on for a long time and some small flashes indicate error codes. When I perform the repair process, the light turns off and no error code is displayed. The light will turn off when the ignition is on and the engine is not running. When I start the engine and pull into my garage the light comes back on. I will try to uninstall the whole driver and try again.

How To Reset Nissan Versa Srs Airbag Warning Light

Do I have to go to the dealer to get the code, or can I go to a third party store?

I have spoken to several garages and they all say go to the dealer. I tried removing the entire side of the car and reattaching everything and trying to get the light back on. When I started the engine and pulled out of the garage, the light came back on.

If this is a problem that was not fixed by resetting the light, why doesn’t the light flash the codes for me when I try to reset? Is there anything else I should try before taking it to the dealer?

I tried again today, but was only able to shift 3 times and the 4th time turning the car over, the airbag light came on instead of the normal glow. I’m sure it’s a diagnostic, but it’s not flashing a valid trouble code as shown in the video. A long flash is not followed by a short flash.

If your airbag light is on in your Nissan, it will not turn off until it is reset. You can take it to your dealer, but they will likely repair it (and probably charge you) and tell you that if it comes back there might be a problem and they will send it back to you. Will do again. Expensive). For some reason this sensor often goes out and we used this procedure a lot at the Nissan dealership I worked at. It works for most Nissan models. Follow these instructions-

2. Check the airbag light. This will last for a few seconds. Then, when it’s on (start of flash), turn the key off immediately.

3. Count to 5 (1 mississippi, 2 mississippi … ..) Don’t rush it or it won’t work.

Next Steps With Airbag Light Diagnostics

5. Now turn the key and observe the light. It will begin to glow in a different way. This is a diagnostic method. You can watch it for a while, there is no rush.

6. Turn the key off again, count to 5 as per step 3, and turn it back on. If the mechanism works, the airbag light will not illuminate.

I’m not sure if I understand the question… it’s cut and paste. Sorry if it’s something like Titan, or Maxima. to limit, and works great on my 2005 NISMO.

Now that you have the correct one, the only way to avoid it is to not turn on the ignition or accessories when the passenger airbag light goes off on the front panel. If the light doesn’t come on, the computer detects a problem and flags the car to flash another airbag light.

Cruise Control Blinking And Not Setting. Not Swithes

I ran into this problem while doing some work under the dash. Check out my wiki page on Goofy Frontier issues and solutions.

Levels like these are why I joined the club. I will be replacing my radio this weekend. So if I disconnect the battery before removing the dash it shouldn’t be a concern, right?

Hey Redbeard. Removing the battery before plugging in the radio is not an effective defense against this problem. I always remove the battery before digging into the dash and this happened to me. The good news: The stupid process is stable.

I’ve documented the recovery process (and the slide light fix that goes on) here: Troubleshooting Nissan Frontier – steamwiki

This is an old thread, you may not get a reply, and this may revive the old thread. Please consider creating a new thread. Like many people, I recently noticed the airbag light flashing on my 2012 car. I haven’t done any electrical work on the car since I got it, but it did come with an aftermarket radio (if that matters). Anyway, I’m in the scrap belt… a lot of the time, so I’m thinking the wire/sensor corrosion has developed somewhere in the car.

Anyway, I performed and completed the recovery process when the light first appeared, and to my relief, the airbag light went off. It was only a short time. I turned off the flashlight for about a week. Now, I’m in evaluation mode. I have a blinking pattern that I believe is a bad satellite driver side sensor (slow flash followed by four quick flashes).

From the diagram below, I believe I’m dealing with the “LH side airbag (satellite) sensor” because it’s the only one with 4 quick flashes in sequence, that’s what my dash is doing. I’m happy to make a blink mode video if it helps.

Now, I’m trying to find out more about it (I don’t know much about doing this kind of stuff). I found a repair video that had the same code as a Frontier. It turns out that the sensor is on the floor of the car, to the left of the driver’s seat (ie just below the seat height adjustment button). The trim should be removed and the carpet folded back.
