From a cost per mile perspective; Unless your car is a real lemon (requires a lot of maintenance) or a gas guzzler (like a Hummer), it costs more than gasoline. They were recently replaced with a battery from a salvaged Nissan Leaf. It takes a lot of sweat to get the batteries back and because it saves costs by selling the rest of the car. I could buy a third pack for $1,200 – ion batteries or even lead acid golf batteries.

I had to purchase hardware to install all of the Leaf modules as well as upgrade the battery charger to make them work, so the total cost of my upgrade was close to $4,000. Plus, they last much longer than the lead acid batteries they replace (reports are 1,000-3,000 cycles instead of 300-600 cycles….). They certainly offer better performance. (I’m very happy with the upgrade for more available power, lighter weight, etc.)
However, I cannot recommend lead acid batteries for electric vehicles other than golf carts. So even upgrading to LiIon would be worth it. I was at the local Sam’s Club today and noticed they had 8 volt golf cart batteries. changed. Now they still have the Interstate badge, with a green top covered in black. These are the white cases with a red top that everyone knows as American batteries. I haven’t had a chance to take a closer look, but do you have any info on this new battery? I really need to go back and measure. I base all drum diagrams on US drum versions. I hope nothing has changed much. I still have batteries to save.

Sam’s/Walmart is switching to Johnson Controls batteries, so I’m not sure if what you are seeing is the battery type. Walmart said in a web post that starting this year they will switch only to manufacturer Johnson Controls, but labels may vary by location.
The black and green color scheme looks interesting; I have never seen a battery with such a configuration.
I started looking at Sam’s Club and liked the price and specs. I got a great deal from a local US battery dealer.

What I would like to add is that it is worth investing in a good battery. Investing in a single-point system to properly irrigate your wetland is well worth the time spent on maintenance in the long run.
I think it’s the same as 8V US. The “new state” is blue and black, but as far as I can tell, it’s still the United States. I will own the sample stream until the battery runs out. To me, this eliminates most of the drawbacks of flooded cells while providing decent battery life and battery life at a reasonable price. Taking them to 50% DOD and above, this is a battery designed for traction. Weight is the real deal.
I’m no longer going to make the standard “headers” for each battery…they are taller than the individual coils and prevent the battery from being held in place. I cut custom tubing between each cell and between each elbow that folds over the top of each cell cover. It didn’t take long.

What’s more annoying is that the “ears” of the 8v battery get in the way of my cable…so I cut the ears off most of the caps. It’s not difficult, but it hurts. I wrote on flow-rite to suggest that using a “low” design for industrial batteries would be better for the typical electric vehicle user.
Get the datasheet for them. What is the actual battery life in a cyclic application when you bring them up to the desired %DOD?
After all, how often will they be replaced along with a better battery that costs a little more?

The footprint appears to be the same…and the shelves have been built. The interstate battery is short; Or how it is measured or has a different type of cap.
Sam is like many places; Buy from different suppliers, depending on the location of distribution warehouses and stores.
In my experience, the performance and lifespan of batteries has more to do with their care and attention than their specific brand.

I have a 2004 Trojan 7x6v on my golf cart and a 2002 Sam’s Club 6x6v on my boat, both are still in good condition and go up to 6.3v after charging.
Interstate website part # is GC8-HD and measures 11.33. Maybe Interstate buys from both the US and Johnson Controls. I took a quick look and it looks like Johnson makes quite a few products in Mexico. it is important?
