Other cheaper destinations include Whanganui ($530), the West Coast and various cities in New Zealand’s less popular regions.

Two-bedroom rental listings in Auckland are being teased online, with Reddit users asking what the highest weekly rate is.

The Ngike St property in Aoraki is advertised on MyRent, a platform it says is “simple, affordable and highly transparent” to rent as a “newly renovated and fully furnished two-bedroom house”.
With one bathroom, a covered garage and two undercover parking spaces, the property is listed for $900 a week — a ridiculous amount that many online say.
The listing was posted on Reddit on Wednesday and quickly caught the attention of users who said the price was high even in Oriki.
According to Barfoot & Thomson’s November 2018 rent report, the average weekly rent for a two-bedroom property in Auckland’s eastern suburbs is $518. On property site OneRoof, the average rent in the municipality is $710 per week.
