Cooking frozen chicken wings in the air fryer is easier than you think. I especially like that there is no need to defrost.

Frozen Chicken Wings In The Air Fryer (crispy!)

Fun fact: I learned how to fry frozen chicken wings because I needed a quick snack for a game party and completely forgot to grab a package of frozen chicken wings from the freezer.

Air-fried frozen wings serve as a blank canvas for whatever sauce or glaze you want to put on them. Since we love wings and fries, there’s usually a big bag of frozen wings in the freezer for a quick family meal. The air fryer makes it easy to turn these pans into a delicious snack in minutes.

Step 1, Defrost: Place the frozen leaves in the fryer basket. Set the temperature to 200°C and air fry for 10 minutes.

Step 2, Drain: Using kitchen tongs, transfer the leaves to a bowl and drain the liquid from the fryer basket.

Step 3, Season: Add oil to the wings, then season with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Mix everything and then place the leaves in the fryer.

Step 4, Air Fry: Bake the leaves at 200°C for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 74°C. Check the doneness of the thin wings

Step 5 Serve: Drizzle with your favorite sauce, such as BBQ sauce, Sriracha honey sauce, or lemon chili sauce, then serve.

Ninja Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Some wings are frozen and fully cooked. Air frying is similar to reheating frozen wings.

Place the wings in the fryer and set the time at 200°C (400°F) for 12-15 minutes or until heated through, adding more time if necessary.

Some fully cooked chicken wings are covered in bread or sauce. Follow the directions above and heat until ready to eat. The internal temperature should be 165°F/74°C.

Chicken wings are very versatile and can be served on their own. This is especially true for spicy wings like BBQ wings, Korean wings, or Honey Sriracha wings. This is why they are tossed in wing sauce.

Some of our favorite wing sauces include buffalo sauce, barbecue sauce, honey buffalo sauce, garlic butter sauce, and honey sriracha sauce. To reduce your carbohydrate intake, you can also use sugar-free options.

Cooking time for fresh frozen peas in an air fryer is usually 25 to 30 minutes at about 400°F (200°C). However, it is important to check and shake the basket during cooking to spread the crumbs and prevent them from clumping together.

Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings (no Thaw Recipe)

This is a general guideline, actual times may vary depending on the size and thickness of the wings, as well as the specific fryer model.

I used a kosori air fryer for this recipe. However, I made delicious BBQ wings in the Gourmet Air Fryer and the Instant Pot Vortex Oven Style Air Fryer.

I’m sure it would cook well in a Ninja Foodi or Power XL Air Fryer if you have one. Most importantly, keep an eye on the chicken and use a digital meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature has reached 74 degrees Celsius.

No, frozen wings can be cooked directly in the fryer without defrosting. The fryer will defrost them for you. However, you may need to add a few extra minutes to the cooking time, compared to the steamed pans to make sure they are cooked properly.

How Long To Deep Fry Chicken Wings

Yes, you can season frozen peas before putting them in the fryer, especially if they don’t stick together. However, there is a risk that the spices will fall during cooking. For best results, I recommend about 10 minutes as indicated on the recipe card.

After the first 10 minutes in the fryer, remove the leaves and drain any liquid that has collected at the bottom of the fryer. If you don’t, you burn your wings.

Additionally, applying a light coating of oil or cooking spray improves the texture. Remember not to overfill the air fryer basket to ensure proper air circulation and crispy results.

Yes it can be. The fresh frozen wings used here are from Costco. Costco’s frozen chicken wings are shorter than the Tyson brand, so they usually take about 20 minutes. Make sure the internal temperature is at least 165°F (74°C).

High smoke points prevent fat from breaking down at high temperatures, ensuring a crispy wing without any unpleasant aftertaste.

Before frying, preheat a fryer or large pot so that the prawns are fully submerged. It is important to maintain a constant temperature when frying, so use a frying thermometer to monitor the temperature of the oil. For perfect results, aim for a temperature of around 190°C.

For maximum crispiness, pat frozen chicken wings dry with a paper towel before frying. Excess moisture can cause the oil to run dry, which can be dangerous. Additionally, dry wings allow the oil to penetrate the skin more evenly, resulting in an even and rough texture.
