All three models use an eight-speed automatic transmission made by ZF. Smooth and quick shifting is standard and the gearbox never feels sluggish or uncooperative. No wonder the big Bimmer is a joy to drive. Around town, all three variants ride with the expected grace of a luxury sedan. Among the 840i derivatives, here are the measurements of the M850i; On some road surfaces, the sportier model can feel unstable, but it is never a cause for concern. Creamy and soft ride quality aside, the 8 Series can still push itself through corners. We’d appreciate more steering feel, but the big GT convertible is fun to drive. Adaptive M suspension and M sports brakes make the M850i the best choice if you want more racing.
The base model has classic BMW performance and the smooth B58 engine is a masterpiece. Power delivery is excellent and the right foot flex provides strong and quick acceleration. In any case, both engines allow transportation and highway overtaking.
