Not all Graco seats in this review fail to impress us, and the SnugRide Classic Connect 30 is no different. This seat is difficult to install with LATCH, scores low for comfort and quality, and has a low average score for ease of use. It’s basically a disappointing seat in our view by the measure you’re looking for. Although it’s cheap, we don’t think it’s a good value, many other chairs generally get high marks, and we do in almost every measure. I would not recommend this place to a friend.
Graco Click Connect Snugride 30
The Graco SnugRide Classic Connect 30 is safe for babies weighing 4-30 pounds and up to 30 inches rearward. Graco’s products are designed to meet or exceed US safety standards and are side-impact tested through the Occupant Restraint System (more below). There is also an adjustable 5-point harness in the front to help get baby in and out quickly. It has a car seat base with a removable newborn body support cushion, 3-panel roll-up and LATCH base level indicator. This seat is compatible with Graco Classic Connect strollers.

This seat has clip-type LATCH anchors that are effective but more difficult to use. The clip style can be more difficult to attach and release from the vehicle’s U-armor. This becomes even more difficult if there are LATCH points that are difficult to see or feel during installation. The clips are difficult to tighten and remove, and to keep our weight at the base of the belt with our knees or feet to the car seat; However, we felt the seating was inadequate. The straps are a pain to remove, but once you loosen them a little, you’re good to go.
The chair has adjustable legs to adjust the base and is easy to adjust compared to their other models. There is an indicator on the base that shows that the base is at the right level. Using the back leg helps to keep the base in the right place.
This seat is easy to install with a car seat belt. It scores 5 out of 10 on this score, 1 point higher than the LATCH supplement. The Evenflo Embrace LX scored the lowest at this point with 4, while Phil and Ted’s Alpha and Peg Perego Primo Viaggio scored 9 for 4-35.

This Graco does not have a belt buckle or colored belt track. Since it does not have a lock, the strap will be more difficult to secure than one made with a lock. The belt itself is not easy to insert into the base, and when we finish it does not feel like a tight position. This is easy with just a car belt, because if it is installed with a shoulder / lap belt, the base can be made with the seat belt and the ends of the car seats. It had Graco’s top 30 load points without using the base. It gets a 7 out of 10 for ease of installation. The lowest score is 4, which is shared by Orbit Baby G3 and Chicco Keyfit 30, while the highest score of this indicator is 10 by Peg Perego.

This seat uses the American belt line, and although it is not color coded, the belt threads are lighter than the base and better than average for the group. It’s easy to attach and tighten, and we had no trouble getting a secure fit. We didn’t need to use the towels for this setup in any of the 4 cars we tested, which is no easy task carrying an extra car seat, baby, diaper bag.
The Graco SnugRide 30 gets a slightly below average 5 for ease of use. The lowest metric score of 3 goes to the Graco SnugRide Classic Connect, Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40 and Orbit Baby G3. The highest score is 8 points for the Recaro Performance Coupe and Evenflo Embrace LX.
All Graco latches are similar and easy to use. All of them are very noisy and difficult to install. After depression (and maybe 2 thumbs), you have to remove each piece because they will not disappear by themselves.
The Graco bra or attachment clip isn’t too difficult to use, but it’s not as cute as the Britax B-Safe 35 Elite or Cybex Aton 2. It has small parts that are difficult to install and damage. Touch our fingers to try. If you press hard on the other side, the bolt will stop releasing and you will not be able to loosen it. Unfortunately, the button is uncomfortably stiff and difficult to slide. It has a slightly better fit, easily fitting on both sides, but the flex is tighter than most of the competition.
Infant Car Seat
The 30-inch belt is easily pulled under the seat with a pull strap. The strap is easier to tighten than others, and the strap is easy to release. There’s no padding to get in the way and it’s easy to press the button. The button is about 2 inches below the seat, which we think is easier to use than a button that’s about 3 inches.
The strap on this seat is threaded which requires you to pull the straps out of the T-style divider, pull the straps through the slots on the back of the tape and insert them into the different slots. It is difficult to put the belts in position and into the slots to reattach them to the splitter. We think so.
