Air Fryer Frozen French Fries

Air Fryer Frozen French Fries – While you may not need a recipe for frozen fries, the seasonings here transform ordinary fries into something extraordinary.

Want to know something? The only reason I bought my first air fryer is because it allows you to have amazing fries at home without the hassle or smell of frying potatoes.

French fries are as simple as cutting potatoes, right? Technically yes, french fries are just a thin layer.

But sometimes you want a great stir-fry without a moment of effort in the kitchen. And that’s where these perfect, crispy frozen fries come in.

We love this potato seasoning mix so much that I keep a jar of french fry seasoning in the pantry to season fries almost every time I make them.

The rules we usually follow when air frying, such as “don’t overcrowd the basket” and “cook in one layer only” are not important factors here. Frozen fries break the rules, and that’s a huge plus for them.

Do you have to follow these rules with fresh potatoes, or will you end up with frozen chips that aren’t pleasant? Filling the cart is not a problem.

You don’t even want to fill it, but some layers. Are you ok with that? Filling the basket about a third or half full allows plenty of wiggle room and enough airflow for the frozen chips.

So go ahead and flip a bag of chips into the fan and start cooking. You’ll stop the cart once or twice to give it a good push, but that’s the extent of your effort here. As easy as possible and you’ll have plenty of hot potatoes to serve.

I usually get great results with about a pound of frozen chips at a time. You can also cook 24 oz at a time, it may just require an extra shake and a few extra minutes in the pan.

Most of the frozen chips I buy are 32 ounces, so it’s easy to just make two batches if it’s for the family rather than my personal snack.

Air Fryer Frozen French Fries {timings For All Types!}

Traditional french fries are seasoned after cooking, but you can easily add frozen fries to oil and season well before air frying. They will be ready to eat and very tasty as soon as they are cooked.

The answer is that it depends. It depends on how thick the chips are, how much you put in the basket, how big the basket is and obviously the frying temperature. You can tell from the photo that this is a 24 oz bag in a 5.8 gallon air fryer.

So a total of 16 minutes in an air fryer preheated to 400°F. Eight minutes to start. Then shake well to settle the chip and leave for another 8 minutes.

I use the COSORI fan pictured in this article. I have a preference for the square basket fan because it’s easy to fit more food in the basket. This is a 5.8 QT air fryer, one of the largest machines I have found that works efficiently.

The machine is quite retro with simple knob controls. Turns out I really like the basic settings and the ability to set the time and temperature like a traditional appliance. I’ve used several fans with pre-programmed settings and found that I was still messing with the timing.

This machine is surprisingly easy to clean, and the two-piece basket locks together (literally impossible to disassemble like others do) until you open it and press a button to release it. I just scrub the basket with a brush or sponge soap, rinse and let it dry on the counter.

A batch of french fries and a bag of frozen potatoes are all you need, check your pantry for these items:

Stir-fried vegetables with a simple sauce or dipping sauce are my favorite savory appetizers or easy dinners.

How To Cook Frozen French Fries In An Air Fryer

Frozen vegetables are fine if you spend a little time in the air conditioner and season them a little. Steamed pouches are good, but vegetables taste better when fried or baked. Broccoli, cauliflower or mixed greens are perfect choices.

Not to mention leftovers, perfect for tossing into soup or sauteing the next day. I usually just add the extras from the fridge straight into a soup or stir fry, whether they’re fancy or not. I like to use it for chicken pot pies.

While you may not need a recipe for frozen fries, the toppings here take regular fries to a new level.

Prepare a seasoning for our potatoes using the same seasonings as the potatoes baked in our air fryer, which is garlic, salt, parsley and we also add pepper.

You may need to give the fries a drizzle of oil to keep the seasoning on, we have to do that with Alexia’s fries.
