We must emphasize that everything on this list is subject to change, and just because a project is announced does not mean it will come to fruition.

Some of these movies may be released in 2023 but are not included in Netflix’s official documents for the year.

One Piece’ Live Action: Trailer, Release Date, & First Look Photos
Filming on the project will take place in mid-late 2022 and tells the story of a young woman, her mother and her movie star boss who deal with the complexities of love, sexuality and identity.
(currently one of Netflix’s most watched movies), Jennifer Lopez will return for another feature film as part of a deal in 2021. Filming will take place throughout 2022 (with some reshoots in 2023).
Originally titled “The Expansion Project,” the film tells the story of Atlas fighting for humanity in a future where an AI soldier decides that the only way to end the war is to end humanity.

The film was recently in the news when Jamie Foxx was hospitalized for a medical emergency near the end of the film.
That’s right, decades after Eddie Murphy first played Axel Foley, Netflix is reviving the crime action comedy for a fourth entry (and possibly more after that).
Approved under the title Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the film sees Axel Foley receive a call that his estranged daughter is in danger.
Production is set to take place between mid-2022 and late 2022 and will reportedly premiere on Netflix in 2024.

From Amblin Partners, the new film was shot in Louisiana and Ohio in the last months of 2022 and is currently in post-production.

New Nigerian Films & Tv Series On Netflix: Exciting Releases For 2023 2024!
Coming from Roth Kirschenbaum Films and PCMA Productions, this is one of the major new projects featuring Millie Bobby Brown. The project was originally scheduled for October 13, 2023.
“A loyal girl agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find that the royal family has taken her as a sacrifice to pay off an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and live.”
This new family comedy tells the story of the Brenner family, who all wake up with a complete body transformation and soon discover that the same thing has happened to a family on the other side of the world.

Image Comics God Country will be adapted into a movie for Netflix. The comic is from Geoff Shaw, Donny Cates and Jason Wordie.
An elderly widow in Texas is being treated for dementia after finding a magical sword in the eye of a tornado. But because of this discovery, he has to fight the creatures of the world that are summoned by the sword. Based on the photo series by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw.
Based on the Japanese mech adventure, this new live-action movie is a collaboration between Legendary Entertainment and Sunrise Interactive. Production was expected to begin in mid-2023, although this was later pushed back to early 2024.
The story follows a detective who follows a drug deal that goes horribly wrong, leading him to rescue the son of a politician.

The second movie from Netflix’s deal with Lindsay Lohan is slated for release in 2024 (and a third is on the way!).

This new romantic thriller based in the UK is reportedly shooting between December and early 2023. The film comes from Gaumont and Neon Films and tells the story of a hapless newlywed who clashes with his fragile and harmful mother-in-law, Katherine.

This romantic movie, which was shot in the middle of 2022, is not known because it is described only as a love story set in Morocco.
This was initially listed on the 2022 schedule and later pushed back. It was then locked into the initial 2023 schedule and removed from the release window.
The new film comes from Dev Patel, who wrote, directed and stars. It is about an ex-criminal who is released in India and struggles to adapt to a world full of greed and decay of spiritual values.

Coming to Netflix as part of its production deal with Nickelodeon is a new animated Spongebob spin-off movie that focuses on Sandy Cheeks.
A musical biography about Gene and Paul, two kids from Queens, New York, who eventually become friends and start the rock band KISS after hiring guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. It is expected to begin production in 2023 for a 2024 release.
Tyler Perry directed this historical biopic based on the story of the brave women of the US 6888th Battalion serving during World War II.
Another film once scheduled for release in 2023 is a biopic of Shirley Chisholm, the first black congresswoman, starring Regina King.
New Movies Coming To Netflix In Summer 2023
Touted to be a mid-budget horror film, the film was shot in mid-2022 in Pittsburgh. It is based on Latoya Ammons and her family, who say they were victims of demonic possession that lasted two years and counting.
And Netflix is investing in a number of new projects from the pair, including an adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s work.
“Set in the post-apocalyptic 1997, Electric State is the story of Michelle, who, along with her toy robot Skip, travels through the western United States in a stolen car in search of her missing brother. Narrative, comfortable prose, and especially nearly one hundred beautiful color illustrations, The Electric State is a novel like no other.”
The film will be produced by Netflix’s in-house studio, Animal Logic, and will tell the story of a boy who begins to grow up after playing a strange board game, which his parents barely watch.
