But so delightfully exciting is The Monkeys Aotearoa (part of Accenture Song) Mazda’s new CX-60 and CX-90 campaign for New Zealand that even an Ad Nut might be willing to dust off the old Mustang and switch to a hatchback. a little.

In the first film, Desire, we see our protagonist behind the wheel of a car next to his estranged girlfriend (she’s transporting a princess) as he stares longingly through the windshield. The next three films tell the story from a vengeful neighbor (always Greg) to a cruel soccer mom who, after seeing a car driven by a rival’s mother, and another girl (Ad Nut makes no assumptions about relationship status) who regrets her choice after an argument with her boyfriend as the new Mazda passed.

The result is a bold, lighthearted and quite entertaining campaign that cleverly taps into the all-too-understandable emotions that everyone has experienced (as heard in Ad Nut) when someone has something they want, or vice versa. All the characters feel tangible and familiar, like you’ve met them in real life and want to show off their nice new car, especially if they were a dusty acorn to you before.

Ad Nut wanted to celebrate this campaign’s OOH, digital and social assets, which include a lot of retro energy from old classic car ads (think Porsche prints from the 1960s), albeit less provocative, but still catchy slogans. Ad Nut would especially like to give a round of applause to whoever (or whoever) came up with the headline “Put your head in the wheel”. It makes Ad Nut shake and giggle, cashews galore for you.

And while Mazda New Zealand marketing manager Terrianne Brown shared: “You get more from Mazda. You get more features, better execution, market-leading design and service packages’ – Ad Nut’s real winner in this campaign wasn’t too famous for its car technology. It’s incredible brave for a car brand not solely dedicated to luxury to cleverly use lust as a selling point, proving that dancing really is about confidence, seduction and lust.
