New Cx 3 – Updated 2024 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia – ADAS, LED lighting on all 1.5L, 2.0L variants; As low as RM116k-139k OTR
Bermaz Motor Trading, Mazda distributor in Malaysia, has launched the updated Mazda CX-3 for the 2024 model year, offering 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engine options in three variants. The range consists of 1.5G 2WD Plus priced at RM115,720. RM126, 2.0G 2WD Plus for RM159; 2.0G 2WD Hi from RM139, 159; All prices are without insurance.

Starting with the 2022 update, the B-segment crossover for Malaysia continues to be fully imported from Thailand and, as evidenced by the slight change in variant names, there are equipment updates as the CX-3 Plus variant now replaces the previous core variant.

All three variants of the CX-3 continue to be powered by naturally aspirated petrol engines, starting with the 1.5G 2WD Plus which is powered by a 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 114 PS at 6,000 rpm and 149 Nm. of torque at 4,000 rpm, while both the 2.0G 2WD Plus and 2.0 2WD Hi feature a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine that produces 154 hp at 6,000 rpm and 206 Nm at 2,800 rpm.
The 2024 CX-3 drives the front wheels through a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are now available on all three CX-3 variants. The 1.5G Plus and 2.0G Plus models of the car feature 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/60R16 tyres, while the range-topping 2.0G features newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/50R18 tyres.
Specifying from Core to Plus gets LED headlights and DRLs along with high-gain LED fog lights. All models come with LED combination lights, bulb tail lights and LED reversing lights. The exterior of the Plus variant gets auto-folding exterior mirrors and rear parking sensors, which were previously missing from the core variant. The top 2.0G Hi adds front parking sensors and an electric sunroof (RM2,000 option).
On the inside, the 1.5G Plus and 2.0G Plus variants now come with wireless Apple CarPlay, which works the same across the three variants. Android Auto connection will continue via cable in any case. In all three, infotainment continues via an 8-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen unit with six-speaker audio and two USB ports across the board.

The 1.5G Plus and 2.0G Plus are equipped with a rearview camera with guidelines, while the 2.0G Hi is equipped with a 360-degree monitor, wireless phone charger, head-up display, and self-dimming rearview mirror.
The 2024 CX-3 comes with extensive i-Activesense ADAS kit, including high beam control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and smart city brake assist. The 2.0G adds driver attention to the Hi’s pack.
While the core variant in the previous update had two airbags, the triple variant now has six airbags. For exterior colors, the available palettes for the 2024 CX-3 are Polymetal Grey, Machine Grey, Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz, Snowflake White Pearl, and Arrow Gray.
Launched alongside the 2024 Mazda 2 in Malaysia, the 2024 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia can be fitted with Active-E window film for an additional RM1,900. All Bermaz variants are sold with a 5-year 100,000km manufacturer warranty and a 5-year 100,000km free maintenance package.

Mazda Cx 3: Downgraded To The Minor Leagues
The 2024 Mazda2, previously known as the “Demio” in Japan, is technically the previous-generation model, as the company Zoom-Zoom has been selling the new Toyota Yaris-based Mazda2 hybrid in Europe for some time. The move to a new infotainment system means the B-segment hatchback will be around for some time, even as it approaches its 10th anniversary.
The CX-3 is an old product, having been used since 2024. Mazda USA discontinued it after 2021MY, but it is still available in some markets despite the company selling the CX-30 since 2019. The revised model in Japan is the Vivid Monotone Special Edition with additional cosmetic modifications and an improved 1.8-liter diesel engine.
In the domestic market, the second generation is scheduled to be released in late December, and the CX-3 is scheduled to be released in February 2024. Mazda offers both gasoline and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions (front- and all-wheel drive). The 2022 Mazda CX-3 ‘light’ SUV has been updated in Australia for the new year with revised color options and safety improvements. However, the price has not been announced yet.
A new Platinum Quartz Metallic color is now available across Mazda’s City SUV range, with the range-topping sTouring, Akari and Akari LE variants also getting gloss black trim around the wheels and under the doors.
Mazda Cx 3 Is A More Practical Miata
In line with updated Australian Design Rule (ADR) regulations, rear seat belt reminders are now standard on all models for the first time.
The Mazda CX-3 is powered by a 2.0-litre biturbo four-cylinder petrol engine that sends 110kW/195Nm to the road via a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The manual variant is front-wheel drive only, while the all-wheel drive model is available in automatic instances of the Maxx Sport, sTouring, Akari and Akari LE variants.
Australian pricing has yet to be announced for the updated model range, but the Mazda CX-3 currently starts from $22,890 before on-road costs for the entry-level Neo Sport manual. Pricing for the flagship Akari LE AWD starts at $38,690 excluding on-road costs.
