So far everything is going well with the car. We live in 30 degree weather (just below freezing) and we leave the car without driving for about 8 days. Go and let him die. Even after removing the jumper wire and waiting for a while, it still won’t start. I’m worried that if I replace the battery because it’s dead, something else will cause the problem and the new battery will likely die as well. I’ve never seen a car that didn’t start from the jump. It clicks once and burns a bit, but never catches. thought?

If your battery is completely discharged, it may not perform well for a while until it is recharged. The car is 100% dependent on the converter. First, fully charge the battery. Expect the battery to charge, then replace it immediately if the battery is the problem.

If you take it to Autozone or something, they can test load it, mount it on the battery, and attach a code reader to see if anything is different. In 2016, the battery died after 3 years.

For sequence #4 in step 4, did you connect the jumper wire to a ground away from the dead battery? And have you made sure the jumper wires are in good condition and rated for higher currents at least 8 gauge? Can I find out the battery life?

To test the battery condition mentioned above, take your battery to AutoZone or another auto parts store. If everything is tested properly, you may start to suspect starting problems, a symptom that appears during jump starts, but this is rare.

You may need a new battery. Get Interstate Group 35 batteries for $79 at Costco.

Same thing happened to my cx9 a few weeks ago. The battery is discharged. Even if it’s less than 2 years. I went back to Home Depot for a full refund. I installed an old battery and I think they installed a Panasonic at the factory. It’s good, but cranking is difficult. The generator works well. I purchased a 750CCA battery. Now it starts up smoothly without any problems.

Click to expand… It sounds like you are saying that the engine is rotating (cranking) with the jumper wires attached. But I’m not looking over your shoulder and maybe the word ‘chugs’ means something else to you.

If the engine flips over with a cable stuck, your vehicle may have two problems that could be causing a discharged battery and preventing it from starting. Everything is just speculation without any additional information from you.

I’m going to test the new battery first, it looked like new when I bought it 2 weeks ago. And, it ran well until I left it without driving for 8-9 days (but wouldn’t the battery be discharged…?)

Let me tell you that I connected the cables to the correct level in order when I tried to jump the battery. However, I connected the cathode to cathode cx-5 rather than the bottom point shown in the diagram. Would that make a big difference?

Charge the battery and start again. I’m still confused as to why it doesn’t start from the jump, but it seems to be working fine. I have a charger that I keep for a long time when I don’t plan on driving. Otherwise I think/hope I’ll just sit out in the cold for 10 days and die. I’ll update if anything happens. Thank you to everyone who responded.

Make sure the cable is tight. I once had trouble starting my car and the battery was dead. He went all the way around the top. Tired of jumping, but it doesn’t start like you, but the ground lies down.

Tired of jumping, but it doesn’t start like you, but the ground lies down. Click to expand… Yes, this happens. The reason jump-start instructions call for connecting points on a dead battery to ground rather than directly connecting them is primarily for safety reasons, to prevent the possibility of an explosion near the battery terminals, even if such a situation does not occur. . Another reason is to avoid the possibility of a bad connection at a bad point causing the battery to discharge.

I think the OP’s experience of not being able to jump start the vehicle has something to do with this. Both terminals on the battery input are faulty. Additionally, a good battery should have no problem starting your car without charging for several months. There are many instances where a rarely driven 2000 BMW 528i can be started without driving or charging the battery for 2-3 months.

The first time I tried to start my CX-5, it wouldn’t work. I then installed a bad jumper wire on the unpainted metal stand on the passenger side and it popped up.

Well, after we drove it the last day and the dealer had it professionally serviced (rear view camera repair), I drove it home, parked it, made sure nothing happened, and this morning it died again. I think it’s time to start looking for the drain.

The battery appears to be old. I’m worried the dealer put in a new battery instead of the Dxg because this is the real problem. CEL now

The electric gimbal is the worst and unfortunately we inherited it when we bought this amazing car.

It’s probably a bad battery that won’t charge. You can take it to Autozone for load testing and see if there are any errors. Sometimes, even with a new battery, the cells are not good.

Unless you park outside and not near a power plant.

Yes, we are in the same number. I just bought a Noco Genius 10, and of course it works. This car belongs to my partner and I don’t want him having to deal with plugging in and unplugging the charger all the time. You can also try a stealth install. You will see plugins being pushed to the backend if needed.

This will not help you diagnose the problem. His appearance was empty. It’s probably a newer style and has a square/short plate. It may be 10 years old and worn, but outside of the engine details, it’s as clean as a whistle. The only thing you can tell is if you look at the battery body there is damage (cracked housing, missing caps, etc.), low water level and text/connection issues.
