Mazda 3 2010 Battery Size – I don’t know why my car battery is dead.. I’ve had my Mazda 3 for four years and the lights are off (HID’S, Angel Eyes, Fog lights) I don’t know what it is. It’s not a radio that I don’t use except to use the aux capacitor to play music on my iPod. I noticed that the blue light on the floor pedal went out.. so when I started the car it was fine but it went off again every morning.

Returned to Sears Auto Center for electrical evaluation and I think the battery only needs to be replaced. It’s been 4 years unless some sort of parasite drains the battery…. What do you think?

Panasonic batteries will not last long if they are stock. Mine is only 2 or 3 years old. Other people have problems with them. If you buy a good battery it should be fine.

My OEM battery lasted 3 years and 4 months. I’ve seen the MT 2010 Mazda3 spec for 26R and the AT for 35 spec. I have the manual but it’s hard to find a good 26R battery. I picked up the EverStart MAXX-35N (N for North climes) from Walmart and it works fine.

What is this part?! Just a fuse? I’ve never seen this before and when it went off the battery was dead.

I believe it’s a circuit breaker and it’s taped for your enjoyment.. it means safety. It looks like you’ve replaced it. Now you need to spray the battery terminal protector and terminals and check every oil change. Don’t rely on a tech to check because it doesn’t do that either, and don’t rely on a sales representative. It’s too late, so I need to buy it.

Thank you It doesn’t replace it. Just run the wire directly to the battery. Any idea where to replace it or is it an MZ3 specific part? I’ve never seen a setup like this before.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good first experience with them. There is an orange LED when you press the button on the key fob. The working key fob still has the original Panasonic battery from the manufacturer and the LED is bright and solid, but dimmed after just replacing it. The first battery didn’t work, so I had to get a second battery from a 3-pack, which eventually worked, but not 100% reliable. I had to reprogram the key fob to recognize my car. I concluded that these batteries were simply “weak” or weak, or that the ebay seller was giving me old/used stock (

Doubts are true. (See update below.) But a week ago, I searched for a brand name and ordered a 5 pack of Sony batteries (made in Japan) from Amazon for $13 (including Ontario tax).

Funnily enough, Today I’m going to remove the key and replace the Sony and unicell battery, so I think it’s time to clean the electrical contacts and fix the broken mouse button. In my Mazda key fob. On either side of the fob are two silver metal holes that connect to the battery. I didn’t see any visible dirt on these contacts, but I did feel some bumps on the battery itself, so I scraped it with my fingernail until it was smooth. I am sure, I fixed that and it worked right away. Each time I press the button an orange light comes out and this is with the same unicell battery I wrote about earlier. I won’t write again this time.

I don’t think the cheap ones on ebay are that bad. I’d like to think about this before spending new money. But that’s okay. Anyone need 5 new opened Sony CR1620 batteries? 😛

Update 2015-Nov-14: 2-3 months after I wrote this post, my main fob with Unicell started to vibrate. I replaced it with a Sony battery I bought earlier and it’s been going strong ever since.

Oh If anyone here is hoping for some guidance. These are the most useful links for me: I’m confused about what battery I should put in my car. I went to Costco and they didn’t have a book to tell me which batteries to buy, so I did a google search and came back with Group 35.

So I bought it and installed it.
