There is something strangely comforting about letting milk out. Maybe it’s just me, but since pumping became a daily ritual in my life about 15 months ago, it’s become a pretty important part of my routine. Every night, after Little Prince is fast asleep in his crib and I settle down for bed, I spend about 20 minutes pumping. While pumping isn’t something I have to do, it’s something I am

Do it for a small reason. Why? Because I am a breast milk donor. If you didn’t know, yes, you can donate breast milk! I discovered this before the Little Prince arrived and knew I wanted to try to produce enough milk to donate to a local milk bank (NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank). At first, I didn’t know if I would reach the initial minimum donation or if I would have time to continue donating through Little Prince’s first year. Once I pumped enough for my first donation, pumping became part of my routine and I wanted to keep it that way. I love being able to pump and a good breast pump is an important part of maintaining my supply so I have extra milk to pump. Of course, a breast pump is not good

For breast milk donors! I would say every breastfeeding mom should have a breast pump and I think it’s worth having it on hand for the day you bring your baby home. A breast pump can be a tool to help relieve breast enlargement when your milk starts to come in, it can help build up your milk supply when you need to make a little more milk, and it’s an indispensable tool for building up a stockpile in the freezer. There are many features that I look for and love in a breast pump, and the Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump delivers in all the important areas!

The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump is a breast pump designed for comfortable and efficient use by all nursing mothers. The pump comes with everything you need to start pumping right away. The pump includes a pumping device, two sets of breast flanges, two soft flange inserts of different sizes, two 5 oz storage bottles, a bag to store the wet parts of the pump, an AC adapter, and a set of extra valves and diaphragm. The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump can be powered by a wall-mounted AC adapter or six AA batteries.

Although it is a double electric pump, it can be used as an electric pump by placing the cap on one side of the tube adapter and placing the tube on the other side. The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric breast pump is equipped with two integrated bottle holders. When you are ready to start pumping, you can place the bottles with the flange kits attached to these tanks until you are ready to pump. When you’re done pumping, you can put the bottles back in these containers so you don’t accidentally spill milk while cleaning up after pumping. The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump has separate adjustment knobs to adjust speed and suction. There are four different speeds and eight different suction levels to choose from. In total, it allows for 32 custom settings, so you’re sure to find the right combination of speed and suction for you. The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric breast pump features an AdvancedFit flange system. This system consists of three breast flanges of different sizes, all of which are included with the breast pump. The flange kit itself is large (30.5mm) and includes a medium (28.0mm) and small (24.5mm) pair of soft flanges. With all three sizes included, most women will find the most comfortable and best seal against their breasts without having to purchase additional parts for a breast pump. The design of the flange assembly is such that it allows for what Evenflo calls PerfectPosition. This means they are angled so you don’t have to bend or stoop to get the milk to flow easily into the bottles. This makes for a more comfortable and relaxing pumping experience.

The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump is a PerfectlyPure closed system breast pump. This means that it is designed to prevent milk from flowing back or splashing into the tubes. Each electric breast pump tube leads directly from the breast flange to the breast pump itself. The Evenflo PerfectlyPure closed system ensures that milk does not enter the tube and flows to the pump. This makes for a cleaner pump and a pump where you don’t have to bother cleaning the tube.

Before I explain how the Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump worked for me, I want to start by saying that the amount of milk you can pump is not an indication of your milk supply. Some women, like me, respond well to breast pumps, but not all women do. Remember that the baby is better at emptying the breast, so if you are also breastfeeding, you may not be able to express as much milk with each pump. This is not serious and is not a sign that your milk supply is low. I have a pretty strict once-a-day pumping routine and have pumped at the same time every night (give or take an hour) since Little Prince was almost six. My body is convinced that it needs to be fed at this time, so my production is usually good unless Little Prince is up or not nursing more often than usual.

The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump has been a great breast pump for me. The performance I get from this pump is in line with what I’ve come to expect from the other two electric pumps I’ve used over the past 15 months. This pump has some great features that I particularly like. The first is adjustable speed and absorption. Many other pumps have set speeds where the suction level automatically increases with speed. In other words, if you need the pump to run faster, it also has stronger suction, or if you need more suction, it also needs to run faster. The Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump is not like that. You can increase speed with Evenflo

Absorption also increases and vice versa. This is a great feature that really allows you to customize the pump to what works best for your body and what is most comfortable for you at that moment. When you begin a pumping session, you adjust the speed to the fastest setting and a comfortable suction level to stimulate descent. When the milk starts to flow, you reduce the speed to a level that mimics your baby’s feeding speed, or to a level that allows the milk to flow smoothly for you. You can also adjust the suction level throughout your pumping session if you find you need stronger or weaker suction. Because this pump offers many speed and suction combinations (32 to be exact), it took several pumping sessions to find the desired speed and suction level. Once I found my sweet spot with the Evenflo Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump, I started to flow perfectly (for me) and had a very comfortable pumping experience. I find I need a fairly fast pace to let the milk down. I used Evenflo’s highest speed to start the descent and it worked for me, but I prefer to go faster just for the descent phase. I’m used to the frustration of a quick one or two minutes of pumping and find that it takes me more than three to four minutes to finish using Evenflo. My normal pumping speed with the Evenflo is the third of the four speed settings, so I generally prefer the fairly fast pump I got with it.

The AdvancedFit flange system on the Evenflo Advanced Double Electric breast pump is fantastic. I just assumed I needed medium soft flanges (ie 28.0mm) and that’s where I started. Pretty comfortable, but re-reading the manual that came with the pump, I decided to try the small soft flanges (24.5mm) to see if that would be any better. To my surprise, not only was it more comfortable, but my performance increased when I used the small soft flanges. This
