How To Make Your Own Reed Diffuser Oil – Smells create memories. On my wedding day, I wore a classic rose fragrance because I knew that every time I smelled rosewood, it would remind me of the most precious day. Likewise, I hope fragrances create peace, warmth and love in our homes.
I used to love candles and lit a little fire every night, but now I like to have a reed diffuser around the house. I love how they secretly spray the rooms during the day, and each room has its own signature as you walk through.

The downside is that the nicest can be expensive. So I decided to find a way to make a unique and nice smelling reed diffuser without the price tag. Here are five ways to turn a standard homemade reed diffuser (recipe below) into something special.
How To Make Your Own Reed Diffusers
The most beautiful perfumes are complex and unusual. Tea tree, eucalyptus and lemon are all great, but easy to catch and nothing special on their own. To create a unique perfume, you need to use a unique oil. Oils such as vitamin C, grapeseed, grapeseed (bitter orange) and geranium are available in moderation, but can add depth and variety to your oil selection.
Some oils are very expensive. I absolutely love the neroli scent but it costs £30 for 10ml! Instead, I add a little neroli water to give the scent a more accessible touch.
If you want to create a really special mix, it’s worth spending some time on. Why not, because that’s part of the fun! Try lots of different combinations by removing the cap and holding a few bottles under your nose. If one smells too strong, hold it in your hand to dilute the scent and use a few drops when blending. Don’t be afraid to use more than 3 different oils – sometimes just one drop can completely change the scent of a mixture. Challenge yourself. I find myself automatically going to the “standard” combination, and I’m surprised when it works better than I expected.
Your base oil can be any carrier oil (sweet almond, iris, grape seed, and the like), and you’ll find that many standard bath and body products actually contain one of these base oils along with some carrier oil. Recently I’ve been using the Old Body Oil, a blend of sweet almond and lavender oils with camellia and orchid oils. I didn’t even know where to start looking for them if I wanted to start using them! When I combine my own ingredients, they help create a scent that smells like I spent a lot of money on it.

After having children, it became difficult to brush my hair regularly and put perfume on it. So my collection of favorite perfumes mostly sat unused in my wardrobe. Unused scents make a great addition to a homemade reed diffuser – add a teaspoon to your carrier oil and reed diffuser bottle.
Here is my recipe, although I recommend experimenting to see what you like in terms of flavor intensity. Remember to expect the diffuser oil bottle to have a very strong scent for it to permeate the room.
Add a funnel to your bottle and pour in the oil, rubbing alcohol, and rose water. Enable integration. Soak the sugar in the oil and turn after 10 minutes. Turn the ash once a week to increase the fragrance. It’s easy to naturally scent your home with this DIY reed diffuser and your favorite essential oils! This is an easy DIY project that will fill your home with non-toxic aromatherapy.

How To Make A Reed Diffuser With A High End Fragrance
You can use glass bottles that you have at home or that you bought. The stem should stick out from the top, but you can use different shapes.
A small metal funnel makes it easy to add water and oil to the bottle before adding the sugar cane. But you can use what you already have.
You can use your own, but alcohol works just as well, and you probably have some in your pantry. (If you’re like me, you love simple wine recipes.)
Vodka is used to better dissolve essential oils in water. As you learned in science class, oil and water do not mix. I like to use alcohol because it smells less than witch hazel.

Add alcohol and essential oil to a glass bottle. Yes, I know this picture shows water in a bowl.
But I forgot that it’s good to put it in a bottle to give it a good shake. Use your thumb or several layers of paper towels to cover the hole and shake it really well.
I added about 20 drops of essential oil. This easy DIY reed diffuser is a great way to freshen up a space, but be aware that a plug-in diffuser (this diffuser is my favorite!) won’t last as long.
If you don’t know what to use, you can use the same oil recipe that I use for my favorite house spray. Or if Christmas is coming up, you can use my festive house spray mix.
Making Your Own Reed Diffuser Is Easier Than You Think
Add water to the bottle using the funnel. Shake everything again.
Then put it in an inverted bottle. Homemade reed diffusers are great!
For this essential oil blend, I wanted something fresh and flavorful, full of bright citrus flavors. I added a touch of rose to add a fresh touch.
Reeds should be changed weekly (or as needed) to keep the scent as strong as possible, and the base oil mixture should be changed monthly.

Turn the reeds so that the side soaked in the oil always helps to refresh the aroma.
In about a week, the water and alcohol will evaporate along with the oil. To keep your scent fresh, follow the instructions above and reapply as needed.
As mentioned above, you can use strong scented oils as long as you don’t mix them. You can add more reeds to help spread the scent around the room.
I love how easy this DIY reed diffuser is. It blends with a variety of home decor and works in any room. It emits a delicate scent and is a great way to add aromatherapy to your home without using an electric diffuser.
