In the manual, Evenflo states that to support the Maestro, the shoulder strap must be properly adjusted, the shoulder strap must move between the child’s shoulder and neck, and the belt must be low and tight on the child’s waist.
Changing from neck to support mode is very easy: loosen the seat, remove the straps from the seat, remove the seat cover and reattach the strap to the plate divider. Insert the chest clip and tabs into the holes on both sides of the seat shell.
Remove the buckle and put it back under the seat (so it’s still attached to the seat but doesn’t affect the child’s fit). Change the cover and Maestro is now in support mode.
The top link covers the plastic label cover on the back of the Maestro shell. We love that Evenflo crossed the red line for visibility, as this is a safety priority required by law in Canada for forward-facing car seats! Tether can be used in booster mode but is not required.

Maestro supports him very well. The leather belt is low on his waist, and the shoulder belt, when it goes through the top of the belt, is on his shoulder.
Our second model, who is 5 years old, has the same information as above: he is 48 inches tall and 47 pounds. This is due to its height in front of the Maestro’s size in carry mode, and in stage mode the Maestro has the same problem because the top is not right. When the shoulder belt *just* connects it to the belt on the head, it won’t last long.
For seats manufactured after March 2014, Evenflo allows the shoulder straps to go over the child’s head in this case. Since there are still some Maestro components that do not allow this method, we always recommend following the manual that comes with your device.
