Oh…I don’t agree with that because I would lose the customization options of the iStop screens and the fuel consumption screen.

With the Kenwood DNN991HD, I have an HDMI input and with an HDMI to USB cable, I can mirror my phone to the Kenwood. My phone has Carplay built in. I haven’t tried it yet, but it should work.

I’ve noticed that some third party parts on eBay are now claiming that the customization options are on the parts for the ’13-’15 NA models.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that people post in the thread I linked above.

I placed my order for the Alpine iLX-007 unit. This is a simple Carplay hub. No Bluetooth, no HD radio and no CD player. I’m willing to give up these things for simple iPhone integration. I will arrive on Thursday and install it on Friday. Will let you know how it goes.

So it’s been a week with the Alpine iLX-007 stereo with Apple CarPlay and I just got back from a trip to Pennsylvania. I’m so glad I took this step. The cost is said to be about $800 to buy and build. CarPlay integrates seamlessly with iPhone. The navigation screen looks great and works well. The Music app is easy to use and if you have Apple Music, all your recommendations and playlists are there. Pandora is also used. Just plug in the included Lightning cable and you’re good to go. I’m already connected to the Apple ecosystem and use the Maps app and Apple Music. I don’t recommend it if you use Waze or any other navigation system. No Bluetooth connectivity, but I hated Bluetooth on the stock radio at first. Plus, the phone charges when connected. Ask any questions. CarPlay image is attached

Small Improvements Refine 2014 Mazda Cx 5 (pictures)

Where did you get it from and did you build it yourself? I’ve always wanted to do something for the main chapter, but again I’m not sure.

I’m looking at a Pioneer NEX 4200 with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, currently $700 from Crutchfield with a $700 rebate, but I’m trying to raise $600 for a new head unit. A new head unit with 13-band EQ, digital time equalization, automatic EQ and more, every imaginable option in the new unit can correct all sound quality deficiencies. In the bad action of HU. The worst thing I hate about my stock HU is that I have to load the playlist from my iPod before starting and I can’t remember where I went and have to start over every time . Same stupid song every time. The radio has a funny sound and the factory EQ settings make it difficult to adjust.

Well, thanks for sending the picture. I’ll give it another two years for the prices to drop before I buy a similar device.

There are currently no other navigation apps for CarPlay. I believe Apple currently only allows third party music apps. It may change if it becomes more common.

Not sure if everyone has noticed, but Kia has announced that older models will be getting the Carplay update. Hyundai announced this more than a month ago.
