My wife had her car serviced for the sticky dash recall in the fall of 2017. I doubt this is related, but just throwing it out there. Also last month I hit a pothole and had to replace two front tires because of a flat tire. Fortunately, No wheels. The car has about 38,500 miles on it.
Occasionally, Her map lights will come on and the door warning light will come on even though the doors are fully closed. Other strange lights were flashing and I don’t recall giving any other false alarms. Not sure what the gremlins are posting so just posting in case anyone else has had the same problem.

Yes, I bought a new one. The electrical problems started before the potholes hit this summer. I don’t know if they are related. If it gets worse, I think I’ll give it a try. I remember the TPMS went out and a false alarm. The TPMS did the same thing on my previous 2011 Mazda 3i. Again, I pulled over to the median and my tire gauge read normal pressure, causing false alarms. Finally had to replace the TPMS on the 3i – dead battery.

I went down a wheel size on my previous 2003 Miata – the 16″ wheels were too heavy, so I went to 15″ for better handling and reduced spring weight. I had to put the weight back on while scrubbing the caliper.
The 3S doesn’t do this – the tires are new…the other ones were replaced 2 years ago and now have at least 10k.
I don’t think there is a Calibrate/Reset button? I believe I have this and have never had a false alarm since I set it up when my 3 was new (5+ years).
My 2010 Mazda 3 had no power yesterday and after opening the battery compartment I found that the + wire was no longer connected to the battery terminal. Terminals are checked for spring corrosion and are clean. Around Labor Day weekend 2018 the car wouldn’t start and I noticed some green dust around the battery terminal connections and cleaned it off and put some petroleum jelly on the positive terminal to prevent corrosion.

1. Both problems occurred after a hot summer: could it be that the car was parked on a slight incline causing acid to leak from the gate covers? As the parking space is from the driver’s side to the passenger’s side, be aware that there will be fluid pooling in the gate linkage.
2. Where can I get a replacement machine? I’ve searched several Mazda parts sites online and there is nothing related to “battery” under the “electrical” category.
3. Do you need to use OEM parts? Could that be the reason the black plastic part with the red and white wires looks like heat sink? Why is there an all white wire?
