Subaru Legacy Cruise Light Flashing
Subaru Legacy Cruise Light Flashing – So it happened. Drove it all day, pulled into a mall park and my dash came with a solid CEL and traction control with cruise and parking brakes. I have a 2013 Outback 3.6R. Fluid level is good, oil is low on the first step on the dipstick and the backup cam is small. I’ll hook it up to check the code tomorrow. Any ideas? When the car starts and drives it sounds random.
Loose gas cap? This is a common cause of CELs, causing other systems to shut down, so the lights also come on.

So This. Brake Light Flashing, Traction Control Light On, And Check Engine. I Got Out After I Got Home And Smelled The Brakes, That’s Good From What I Can Tell, But The
This symbol seems to be common in the same thread as the brake switch. Take the switch to a dealer to have it checked and replaced.
On my 2013 3.6R, the same warning light was a failed front air/fuel oxygen sensor. OBDII code P0031 is thrown. A new oxygen sensor fixed it. Part number is 22641AA53A. This happened in October 2018 at only 45,000 miles.
I also drive a 3.6R 2013 Subaru Outback. I have 180,000 miles on it. when accelerating from 50 to 55 mph it started stuttering i would accelerate with a stutter now the check engine light, cruise control brake light, traction control light all came on and about a month ago the TPMS sensor. And a half ago I hit a good solid hit. A cold pool of water and I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I’m curious if you have the same performance with stuttering and acceleration?
CODE RESET, DASH IS NOT LIKE CHRISTMAS ANYMORE. The report highlighted in red is the only value at its maximum range. Suggestions
Subaru Legacy 1993: Q&a On Check Engine Light Codes & Error Codes
P2196 doesn’t indicate the same sensor but, as S2 could be the most likely cause, I’d be tempted to check B1S1 for a wiring problem or, perhaps, swap the other side to rediagnose. ?
As well as while we’re here. Can anyone recommend a good OBD2 reader? I am considering the obdlink LX.
I bought an iCarsoft i903 scanner last year. Designed for Subaru, Infiniti and Nissan. It reads engine codes, ABS codes, SRS codes, transmission codes and more. Nice unit, but keep in mind that iCarsoft customer support is non-existent. If you decide to order one, make sure the return policy is strong if you decide you don’t like it.
If the same or similar codes come up again, continue to investigate the O2 sensor but, including myself, people have had the battery fail, had bad reasons, and the alternator failed to set the ‘wrong’ code.
Check Engine, Eyesight Disabled, Rab Disabled, Not Even 2 Weeks Old.
This is an old thread, you won’t get a reply and may have to revive the old thread. Please consider creating a new thread. Good morning! In this post we have collected a lot of information about the powerful and humble “Check Engine Light”. It has shattered many dreams and filled many Facebook groups with this recurring question. “
The check engine light is there to help you and you should listen to it. This is a clear sign that your car’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) has detected a problem with your car’s functions and wants to communicate with you in the form of a code. There are approximately 196 different codes available on your Subaru, each taking you or your mechanic down a different diagnostic path. The blinking cruise control light means nothing anymore and is just an extra effort to get your attention (and annoy you) on 2005 and newer Subarus.
Why not waste is always money, and nowhere is that more true than here. Problems tend to get worse over time and waiting for the problem to go away can end up costing you more money. I urge you not to waste your time replacing random parts. When dealing with real problems it’s expensive for no good reason only if you’re lucky. Make an appointment with your mechanic to have them read the codes. You can equip yourself with a portable OBDII reader that allows you to read and erase codes.
Now that you’ve read the code shown, you need to decide if the problem is critical or not. Some codes indicate a malfunction or a serious problem with your car, in which case you’ll need to take it to a repair shop. If the code is related to something less important, such as a temporary loss of module power, you can go ahead and delete the code and try to see if it returns. If you are not sure, do not guess yourself and consult a professional.

Consult your OBDII reader, the codes should remain but are classified as “history” and provide valuable information. Prevention is much cheaper than responding to problems you could have avoided in the first place.
Since 1996, automakers have standardized their troubleshooting protocol on what we now call the OBD-II system. Since then, every car on the market has a universal connector (OBD-II connector) located under the dash on the driver’s side.

Why Is My Check Engine Light Flashing?
You need to scan the CEL code. All kinds of dash lights flash when the code is set, and most of the lights have nothing to do with the code. They are there to get your attention.
1. If the malfunction indicator light is on while the engine is running, you cannot go to X
2. This will not happen if there is an excessive engine coolant or engine oil temperature condition.
3. If the ignition switch is in the ON position before starting the engine, shifting to X mode will not be available.

3. Pressing the X-mode switch will not change the X-mode display together with the meter and the mode will not change to X-mode.
So X-mode is flashing because the MIL is lit, telling you that you can no longer use X-mode.
I was pretty worried about this, so I took the car to my local Subaru dealer this morning to have the codes cleared and they refused to do anything without paying $100 because they wanted the check engine light serviced. Charge. . They state that the car was recently in an accident on 2/3/2020, and the active grill shutter was damaged as a result of the accident, so it is not covered under warranty.
NOTE THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AS OF 3/14/2020 AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. The service advisor I spoke with said that he has seen more vehicles having issues with the grill shutter activating recently, even on newer vehicles with less than 1000 miles some have had problems with the system. Notify. Although I thought it would be easier to write off my car problem in relation to the deer accident, the day of the accident and the check engine light went between months and 10 days without any problems.
Subaru Is Hit With Another Lawsuit Owners Say Eyesight Is Dangerous
What frustrates me the most is that this check engine light disables the cruise control. I don’t care if the active grill shutter doesn’t work as intended, why doesn’t it affect the operation of other unrelated features? I will try to resolve this with Subaru.
Insurance covers that, due to some unforeseen circumstances the car could not be repaired. For me though, my main complaint is that the cruise control was disabled and the dealer refused to remove the code without paying. I can disconnect the battery and see what happens, I read another account here that has the problem and it resets the system (at least temporarily) after disconnecting their battery for an hour. Succeeded in giving.
I wonder if the manufacturer’s service manual tells you how to fix the type of resistance he’s looking for…that guy would be a good business…dummy to ignore some problems. Create a sensor plug.
