The code returned to P24BA – Evap system leak sensor low. The gas was not filled for several days, the gas cap was not closed and was not filled. There was no damage to the line so they cleared the code and sent me on. Will do more research if the problem reoccurs.

Could be a gas cap, while running on gas for a few days, check the evaporative system.

But again… Yesterday morning when I called it was the same as last time. This time the code is P2404, “evap System leak”. I hope to find out more research today.

I wonder if this will affect the turbos that others may open in mid 2018…it’s possible. There are three lower triangle shaped turbo locks on the passenger side that have been lost or loosened. You might want to hear them.

I did the same thing on and off for weeks. We bought it new over a month ago. The dealer couldn’t duplicate it and the first time it happened I didn’t get gas for a week. It happened twice recently. I hit the gas and the light went out. 24 hours later all the lights came back on. At that moment, I got a message on my phone to make an appointment. It has never happened before. I hope the code is now saved and the service department can now fix it. I’m so sorry. Do you know what your problem is?

We have been dealing with Subaru and the owner for a long time. I don’t know if Ascension has solved many of these problems. I only recently started looking again. Our 2019 Ascent Touring has a lot to offer. The panel was quickly replaced after a safety complaint was filed with NHTSA. The car jumped and stopped like a spinning horse. This is the starting point, so the entire transmission is sent back to Subaru headquarters for analysis. The HC head unit and/or car computer always go crazy. I knew buying a car for the first year was a gamble. Even though we are tired of all the problems we have. All driving aids are good if they work. We can never really trust them, but living in this situation is like running cars/computers and breaking them is not good or safe. The local dealer we use is good. They are very busy. Since Subaru has been so popular here, sales have increased, but maybe not by much. We are in a lot of pain, but we still seem to be in trouble. We can’t stop doing these real trips.

We have an increase in 2021 and the problem is the same. I find it silly that an open windshield disables all safety features including cruise control. It happened to my husband when he was driving home from work in the countryside in a heavy thunderstorm; no camera, line control, space, etc. I put on my helmet and drove 30 miles to the store and the rules weren’t clear. The software must distinguish between an open hood and serious problems that require disabling all safety systems. In addition, other problems include the head, the passenger seat vibrates and moves. They then did a “smoke test” to check for leaks and found a bad o-ring on the fuel pump which they replaced. Looks like the problems are gone. Click to expand… This problem happened to my 2014 Forester five years ago. My husband and I were packed with our two dogs and a lot of stuff. We moved from Long Island to Tennessee. It happened on the Cross Island Parkway, not a good place for trouble. I have an ODB reader and it reads the error code as gas cap. About ten stop/start lights go out on the Forest, maybe for the current Pike?

This really helped me when I had this problem. I hope Subaru is working on a redesign of this system. For all its intelligence, the system seems to be able to 1) identify the cause of the problem without many unrelated actions, and 2) find and recover the system again after the problem is fixed (loose air cap).

Update: The day I planned to drive to my Subaru dealer to clear the code, it just happened. Since I put over 800 miles after the light went out, I don’t believe the mileage is what resets the code. This seems to be the starting number, about 30 in my case.
