Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 Infant Car Seat And Stroller

Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 Infant Car Seat And Stroller – Thanks to Michelle from Mama’s Baby Cupcakes for this review and thanks to Graco for providing the Graco SnugRide 35 Click Connect car seat to make the job easier. Here’s Michelle’s review:

When we had our first child six years ago, we bought our first infant car seat. Over the years (and with more children), we have been lucky enough to be able to use the same seat with each child. Fast forward to the arrival of our fourth child and our high chair expired just weeks after her due date. Suddenly car seats looked so amazing and I kept looking at different brands to read and compare their specifications to see how they were better than each other. Always a fan of Graco, I fell in love with their SnugRide car seats and the features they offer.

We were sent the Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 35 Car Seat in Grapeade to review. As soon as it arrived, I couldn’t wait to open it and see how different it was from our old seat.

Graco Snugride Click Connect Infant Car Seat Base

The SnugRide Click Connect 35 Car Seat is designed to protect rear-facing children between 4 and 35 pounds and features a comfortable seat that keeps your child safe and comfortable. The SnugRide Click Connect 35 features Click Connect technology for secure, one-step access to all Graco Click Connect strollers, making it easy to create a travel system that fits your lifestyle.

The first thing I noticed when taking this seat out of the box was how much lighter it was compared to our old seat. One thing about carrying a baby is how heavy it is. Even with a newborn, you’re carrying around 15+ pounds with the baby inside, and I was much more comfortable wearing Mya without feeling like I wanted my 20 pregnancy pounds back right away.

We have never used a restraint system with a car seat and although our first thought was to use a seat belt, we decided to try the restraint system in our van and I am so glad we did.

With our old seat, we were constantly tightening and adjusting the base as it shifted or loosened with the belt over time. Although this is not what you want in a tire, we thought it was the shape of the seat and continued to make sure the tire was in place and snug when our daughter was sitting. Thanks to the quick and easy closing system, it never moves. Macyn is almost two and tries to use the tire when she comes in the van because of her little feet and it stays in place nicely. You will notice that there is a level indicator on the side of the tire, which also ensures that it is installed correctly and securely. I like this little feature because the safety of the child in the vehicle is very important and all the safety precautions are a big plus.

With the image directly on the tire, you can quickly see how the placement occurs when different types of seat belts are used in conjunction with the restraint system. As I was looking at the manual, my husband pointed it out and I thought, “Isn’t that cool?” It is also handy if you have a friend or family member who drives your child and you need to install it in their own car.

Aside from the safety, my favorite feature is the straps. With our old seat, you would have to take everything apart, remove the clips from the chest, and thread everything through each hole before putting everything back together. When it came to adjusting the tension, you had to put the baby in the seat and then pull the straps back until they fit, but with any growth or clothing changes, the straps seemed to be necessary readjust. This seat now has an adjustable strap on the front of the seat that you can adjust each time your child sits. When it’s time to adjust the height, just disconnect from the back and pull the strap to the next hole. It took me about three minutes to get the straps where Mine wanted them, versus our old seat where it took my husband about ten minutes to adjust them.

Mia was about a week old and weighed eight pounds in this photo. Even if she doesn’t look happy, I like this outfit for her. The straps are nice and thick, but they lay flat on your body and are supported in all the right places. The buckles slide on easily, jump on quickly and we’re good to go. If the adjustable strap is so close to your feet, I don’t feel like trying to adjust the fit depending on what I’m wearing. I have to reach under the cover to unlock the button to slide the strap through, but it only takes a few seconds and we’re good to go.

The Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 struggled in our tests and struggled in key metrics compared to the competition. In our opinion, this seat is not the most comfortable or the best quality. Add in the ease-of-use ratings and the difficult-to-use LATCH system, and it’s a below-average car seat in our opinion. If you like the Graco, we suggest you consider the Graco Snugride Click Connect 40, which costs a bit more but performs better overall and has great crash test results.

Founded in 1942 and owned by Russell Gray and Robert Cone, Graco was a factory that made metal parts for automobiles. Inspired by a worker who used an open glider to soothe his baby, the men’s first product was a swing. The swing became an instant hit and sold millions, and Graco became the largest manufacturer of baby products in the world.

We have tested more than 60 car seats, including 29 for children. Our extensive testing protocol includes crash testing each seat in the same certified testing lab used by the US government for safety certification.

The chart here provides a comparison of the overall scores for every infant car seat we tested in this review.

The information in the following sections provides detailed information on the performance of the Connect 35 during testing. Results of metric tests were used to determine total scores.

The graph shows the crash test results of the Graco 35 versus the Graco 40, which has the best test results in the breast sensor data set.

As with all car seats, we used sled crash test data to compare each seat’s individual data to the Federal Guidelines and to other seats in this review.

Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 Lx Infant Car Seat Base

The chart shows the crash test results of the Graco 35 versus the Chicco Keyfit 30, which has the best crash test results of the group for head sensor data.

This seat meets minimum federal standards as all seats must be sold in the USA. The results of their tests show that it offers an additional margin of protection beyond the federal safety requirements. It scores lowest for G-force, with the second best score for chest sensor data (g). The graphs show the results for the Graco 35 (shown in black) compared to the best performing seats (head and chest shown in green).

This Graco claims side impact protection (SIP), but they describe their SIP test as a guarantee that the seat belt will keep the child in a side impact. We think this claim is a bit misleading as we think most parents would expect it from all seats and it is strange to consider a simple restraint with belts.

The SIP function is different from the standard one. While Graco says they’ve tested and can back up the seat belt claims, we think most parents will find that Graco’s decision doesn’t increase the injury prevention margin compared to seats competitive in the event of a side impact. We wish Graco would provide actual crash test data that will quantify what difference its SIP feature makes, if any, since all seats are required to keep a child in a seat belt.

The Graco 35 scored an average 5 out of 10 on this score. The ability to secure a car seat using the LATCH system is supposed to be better compared to using a car seat belt. It should be easier
