The second half of the show brings more contrast than the movie. As someone who doesn’t know much about music, I was intrigued by “Who Are You Now?” and “The Music That Made Me Dance,” two numbers I can’t believe are left out of the film.

The audience deserves at least one soulful solo for Fanny Brice, with no glitter or flash to distract from her great voice. “Music Makes Me Dance” is it. A solid build up of the song and a great ending fills the void left by the omission of “My Man” from the show.
There’s also in the series’ addition the melancholic Nick “You’re a funny girl,” a number that provides a nice twist to his breakup — a phone call that eventually led to his arrest. It is a testament to his insecurity in the relationship, suggesting that he believes that a woman of Fanny’s wealth and success is “all bad for a young man.”
