Mazda Cx 5 Sport 2019
Mazda Cx 5 Sport 2019 – The Mazda CX-5 is an affordable small SUV that does a good job pretending to be a luxury brand. With its sophisticated design and engaging driving dynamics, the CX-5 accomplishes this difficult task better than many of its rivals. That’s saying something when the competition includes the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan.
EV battery ratings are based on the vehicle’s current expected range relative to the vehicle’s expected new range. ,

What makes the CX-5 different from the competition? For starters, this Mazda’s handling proves that this SUV is from the same automaker that gave the world the MX-5 Miata Roadster. Handling is telling, and the CX-5 really is a joy to drive in all conditions. Then, try loading up your four best friends and their weekend worth of stuff in the meta!

Of course, the CX-5 lags behind many competitors when it comes to cargo room and rear luggage space. And while we’re fans of the optional turbocharged four-cylinder and the new Grand Touring Reserve and compared to the Gales’ signature trim levels, adding more power and good looks increases the CX-5’s value.
Be sure to read our full review of the CX-5 above. But for SUV buyers looking for just the best (and the least flashy), we’ve compiled a quick list of things we love about the 2019 Mazda CX-5 — and some things we don’t. don’t like
For the 2019 model year, Mazda has added Grand Touring and Signature trim levels to the top of the CX-5 range. Both models come standard with all-wheel drive and a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Signature is the go-to option for those who refuse to decide between options. That’s because it’s packed with every convenience and safety feature you can find in a CX-5, including heated front seats, heated rear seats, Nappa leather, a 360-degree camera system, 19-inch alloy wheels, and This includes closing. sound system , behind the wheel, reviewer Fred Meyer said the CX-5 in Signature trim feels “very close” to a premium SUV. As tested, our CX-5 carried a sticker of $39,325; The base CX-5 starts at $25,395 (all prices include destination charge).
The Mazda beats the CX-5 when it comes to horsepower. For 2019, there’s a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 227 horsepower when running on natural gas or 250 hp when fed the premium diet. The base 187-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder is good, “but the turbo is for buyers looking for more than enough,” Meyer said in the review.
Mazda Cx 5 Is Neatly Tailored, Amply Powered
So, you need the convenience and space of an SUV but hate the idea of giving up the joy of driving in the process? Well, you’re in luck, because the Mazda CX-5 has an agile chassis and possibly the best handling you’ll find in an affordable SUV. “The Mazda’s steering is balanced and fun to maneuver,” says Meyer. Try applying this equation to many other family-friendly SUVs.
Mazda CX-5 is not only carefully decorated. It also has an interior that feels several notches above its direct competition. This is especially true of the posh Signature trim level, which is equipped with real wood accents, a door frame finished in high-quality leather, and a piano-black top on the dash. Thankfully, the base CX-5 has a cabin that looks and feels like it belongs in a more expensive product.
Styling is key, though it’s hard to deny the Mazda CX-5 in a crowd. The exterior is beautiful and does not skimp on the details. Unique front end and side features give the CX-5 real presence on the road.
Sometimes the best SUVs include the ones that sit in the front row but they drop the ball when it comes to the back seats. Not so with the Mazda CX-5: standard trim, soft armrests and soft surfaces extend to the rear seats. Headroom isn’t plentiful, while headroom is good for the class — though not as generous as you’ll find in a Honda CR-V or Nissan Rogue.
Mazda Cx 5 Signature Review
The Mazda CX-5 has some sharp wheels, especially when you opt for the 19-inch alloy wheels on that trim level. Our test car was fitted with the exhaust finish that defines the CX-5 Signature model. In comparison, the CX-5’s standard 17-inch headlights look a bit harsh.
The Mazda CX-5 has a sharp and informative head-up display full of useful information. It’s one of those things that most people don’t know what they want until they get it. Thanks to the bright and clear graphics, the HUD system on the CX-5 is a great addition.
Many a good engine has been ruined by a faulty transmission. We’re happy to report that the six-speed automatic transmission fitted to the CX-5 is smooth and quick when changing gears. Meyer says this gearbox is more efficient than the continuously variable transmissions found in the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue. But they also wondered whether an eight-speed automatic transmission — like the one used in the VW Tiguan — would make a good thing even better.
The Mazda CX-5 received a Best Pick Plus rating — the highest score — in safety tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The base CX-5 Sport comes with rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitor, and a forward collision warning system. Moving up one trim level to the base CX-5 gets you more standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and automatic high beams.

The Mazda CX-5 is very close to feeling like it deserves a luxury label among its competitors. Question from the public: Can you predict that Mazda’s luxury brand will disappear before its official launch in the US? (Answer: It’s called Ummi. Go ahead and see. We’ll wait). Back to the here and now, the infotainment system in the CX-5 is slow to start up and takes a long time to switch between screens and menus. Meyer also said in his analysis that the 7-inch screen looks small compared to the 8-inch screen found in many competitors. Another surprise: the touchscreen is only a screen when parked. On the move, you have to use the controller and buttons on the center console between the front seats.
The luggage compartment in the CX-5 is just as good. You get 30.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. For comparison, the Honda CR-V offers 39.2 cubic feet of cargo room. Then, the CX-5 has a useful 40/20/40-split that folds back for those times when you need to transport larger items.
Energy can be wasted, but it cannot pay for gas. We like the extra boost provided by the new turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but we wish the Signature AWD test car achieved a better EPA-estimated 22/27/24 mpg city/highway/combined. Thankfully, it will run on regular or premium fuel.
Do you put your phone down while driving? It’s a little weird, but the front USB setup in the CX-5 is amazing. There are two outlets, but they are located behind the central storage compartment between the two front seats and under the armrest. This isn’t a deal breaker, but it’s something that can be easily fixed.
