The design philosophy of the CKS-30 is called “load and release”. Imagine a stroke of ink starting above the front tires, flowing to the rear and releasing its energy. The result is a shape that energizes the driver even before he gets behind the wheel.

Mazda Cx 30 Premium Review

The interior of the CKS-30, with its rich hues and textures, is a hallmark of its dedication to craftsmanship. Elegant lines seamlessly wrap around the master cabin, creating a space that is inclusive and welcoming for all. Not to be confused with the recently discontinued CX-3, the slightly larger subcompact has a much roomier interior that includes better material choices, smarter design and an overall feel that’s satisfying. The controls for a wide range of functions are designed with ergonomic precision, and the interaction with the knobs and buttons is satisfying. This hands-on philosophy extends to the infotainment package, as Mazda opted to stick with dials so drivers aren’t distracted by subtle touchscreen interactions. Of course, the technology improves as you move through the trim levels, but even the base model has a decent list of safety features and a nice sound system. Those in the back will have nothing to complain about with such entertainment, and there is more than enough room to move around inside the Mazda CX-30.

There’s plenty of room for up to five in the CKS-30, but if you’re gathering your co-workers in the CUV, we recommend sticking to a maximum of four adults. However, rear legroom isn’t so generous that you’d want to stay there on longer journeys. It is worth noting that the internal dimensions of the CKS-30 in this respect surpass the Mazda3 hatchback. There’s plenty of headroom all around, but not enough shoulder room, so you might bump your passenger’s elbows from time to time. Until you get the equipment you want, you have to make do with manually adjustable seats. Then you get an eight-way power driver’s seat. Both front seats are also heated from this point. General visibility is excellent thanks to the large windows and the high height of the crossover.

While not all Mazdas are premium machines, even the most affordable never feel as cheap as they are. Sure, you’ll find hard plastics around the 2.5 S CKS-30’s interior, and the steering wheel and shifter are cheap urethane, but the build quality is excellent. The seats are upholstered in basic damask, which is only available in black. Faux leather is becoming the norm for Select and Preferred trims. The former is still limited to black, but the latter can opt for Greige for a softer color scheme. The shifter and steering wheel also get an upgrade at this price, wrapping the steering wheel and shifter in more comfortable leather. The premium grade is upgraded to genuine leather, and while black is still the primary color, it adds classic white leather to the interior colors of the Mazda CX-30. The 2.5 Turbo is available in three trim levels: Standard, Premium and Premium Plus. Each Turbo adds chrome trim around the Mazda CX-30’s interior to advertise its sporting ambitions. The Carbon Edition comes with a sporty red leather interior.

The small crossover offers decent functionality for its size, but it won’t impress buyers who’ve been in any of the popular midsize cars on the market. Still, 20.2 cubic feet of standard cargo volume should be enough for most everyday needs. It’s unlikely you’ll run out of space in the Mazda CX-30’s boot when you’re out doing your weekly grocery shopping, and even larger suitcases can easily fit in this size boot. If you need a little extra space, of course, you can fold the rear seats 60/40 to create even more cargo space in the Mazda CX-30. Significant advantages in the cargo area include a low floor height and an electric tailgate on top models.

Small item storage is common in family-oriented cars. A pair of cup holders comes standard up front, while a second pair is added in the rear on the Select. They can be used to store water bottles or smaller items such as mobile phones. Each of the four door pockets is also equipped with a water bottle holder, and the front seats have rear pockets. There’s a standard glovebox, and the front console offers several small baskets, while an overhead console is added when you upgrade to the Preferred.

The CX-30’s feature list starts out pretty basic, but quickly grows to rival far more expensive rivals. The 2.5 S is pretty clean, sticking to the basics like air conditioning, keyless ignition, a 12-volt power outlet and basic driver-assistance tech like a rearview camera, cruise control, driver alert, lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning. leaving the lane. The Select backs that up with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while it upgrades to automatic dual-zone climate control with rear air vents and the addition of advanced keyless entry. Most of the Preferred’s upgrades are focused on comfort, with the addition of heated front seats, an eight-way driver’s seat, and a power sunroof. At the top of the range, Premium extends driver assistance with traffic sign recognition and an active head-up display. It also adds paddle shifters for more convenient driving. The Turbo Premium Plus will get all this along with intelligent reverse brake assist, rear cross-traffic braking, traffic congestion assist, front and rear parking sensors and a surround view camera.

Mazda has decided to go back to basics when it comes to infotainment. Atop the dash is a large 8.8-inch screen, but it doesn’t offer touchscreen interaction. Instead, users navigate through functions using an intelligently designed dial on the center console or via a voice command system. This provides access to HD Radio, Pandora, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The standard sound system consists of eight speakers with Mazda Harmonic Acoustics. The only upgrades to this setup come at the Premium level, where Sirius XM and navigation round out the base features, and a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system replaces the standard offering. Charging smart devices is made easy by a pair of USB ports, but you can optionally add a wireless charging pad.
