Listing a car on Facebook Marketplace is similar to listing on an auction site or Craigslist. First, take as clear and informative a photo of your vehicle as possible. That being said, I wouldn’t hesitate to resell my car through a club’s private Facebook marketplace. You can get a basic model, Type-A, Type-S and Type-E. The Type-A’s aerodynamic kit is said to be Italian-influenced, and it comes standard with the slightly more powerful BP-VE RS version of the 1.8-liter naturally aspirated inline-four.
Only 200 were produced, making it extremely rare. Not as rare as the Type-S, of which only 63 or 64 were made (reports vary). According to Mazda’s early PR, the Type-A’s design is reminiscent of classic racing cars.
The NB feels inherently stiffer and we know from ownership that a fixed roof structure will add to that, so we’d like to try it. A Miata coupe straight from the factory should look epic. The weight penalty is also just 22 pounds with the top over, which is nothing compared to the 120 pound penalty you’d incur if you bought the 2022 Mazda Miata RF with the top on.
Added to this is a capacity increase over the US spec NB; The Miata was never about horsepower, it was about weight, but a little more power in that chassis would be great.
The Type-A used the same 1.8 mentioned earlier, but with variable intake valve timing to increase power to 160 hp, about 20 hp more than the NB sold here. Twenty horsepower isn’t a lot, but you’ll notice a difference in a car weighing over 2,300 pounds.
It is difficult to judge how much this car will sell for at auction. Last year, the Type-S was up for grabs, eventually selling for the equivalent of $38,000. The auction house responsible for the sale, Davy Japan, expects this example to sell for around $30,000. So it’s either a brand new Miata, your choice
But even if you buy it, you have to stay in Japan for a while. By law, you can only import a foreign car after 25 years, which means another eight years will go by before this particular example becomes legal. Sorry you missed out on this Cx 5, but we have over 150,000 vehicles for sale.
