Four separate cameras offer a full 360° view around your Mazda3 to help you see nearby objects, reduce blind spots and avoid potential accidents.
When you exit the T-intersection and driveway, the FCTA checks for oncoming vehicles in your blind spot on both sides of the front of your Mazda. A warning will sound if a vehicle from the front is detected.
When stuck in a slow-moving lane, the CTS automatically helps combat driver fatigue by using the accelerator and brake pedals to maintain the proper distance between you and the vehicle in front. Mazda’s theme for the Mazda3 hatch and sedan is “every driver’s dream”, a small car for everyone is a rare feat, but the equipment and price tag suggest this Aussie favorite wants to step it up a notch.
Mazda 3 G25 Gt Sedan Review
The top-of-the-range Mazda3 G25 Astina with automatic gearbox is $42,000 drive-away, entering the prestigious small car segment, so our family of testers jumped into the entry-level G20 Clean: just under $30,000 road..
Ian: I’m gone. The Mazda3 has long been the best-selling car to private buyers in Australia and I’m told that this dealership rarely buys low-spec entry-level models.
Ian: Yes. And apparently it works. The Mazda3 increased its market share in the small car segment, although sales fell slightly in 2018.
Jules: Our entry level and still close to $30,000 on the street? That’s a lot to ask, considering all these SUVs cost the same.
The Wrong Fuel Rescue Guide To The New Mazda 3
Ian: Good call. But nothing drives as beautifully as the new Mazda3. If you’ve driven an SUV or ute in recent years, try one of these and remind yourself how a real car handles.
Ian: It should be. Mazda has raised the level of build quality, noise suppression and driving dynamics. Engineers study the human body in detail and prepare the seat, control settings and suspension to work in harmony with the driver.
J ules: Sounds a bit like snake oil marketing. Still, it looks unique with its sleek front end and giant grille. But in some lights, the edges seem stuck.
Ian: Digging. It is an interesting body composition. In profile it looks like a tall sedan, and the Soul Red paint shines on our test car. But it doesn’t look as sporty as my current crush: the Mazda3 hatch.

Ian: They’ve worked hard to eliminate what they call “visual noise.” It’s minimalist without too many buttons and the driving position – where your hands rest and how the steering wheel sits in the hands – is ideal. The living room is really comfortable.
Jules: The seats are a little hard, the steering wheel is plastic and the dash-mounted screen can’t be touched. It’s nice that it has Apple CarPlay/Android Auto but navigating your phone apps with the rotary dial is a little difficult.
Ian: Because the screen is so far away – making it touch sensitive involves a long reach. I don’t agree with the chair, it’s good for my back.
Jules: Very good quality, it’s digital, but when you put it in sport mode it lights up red. Then Mazda didn’t know.
Mazda3 Tcr Race Car Revealed
Ian: It would be nice not to be in an SUV leaning all over the place. The Mazda3 is flat and composed, and the steering is very precise for a modest front-drive small car.
Jules: I’d like the suspension to be stiffer for a sportier feel but it’s not really meant to be sporty – the engine shows it.
Ian: 2.0 liter, non-turbo and petrol, less. Even in Sport mode it seems to rev up without much performance. This car needs a fast turbo.
Ian: Radar cruise control is normal – it’s good – but boy is it invasive. When someone pulls into your lane on the road, a car slams on the brakes, shockingly. Installation requires work.
Mazda Recalls Almost 200,000 Cars, Aussies Urged To Check Their Models
Iain: While I like the Mazda3’s hatch design, the sedan beats it for boot space – 444L compared to 295L.
Jules: There’s a lot of good shopping and boots. The rear parking sensors and rear cross traffic alert are good for letting you know if a car is approaching when you’re backing up, but the rear camera screen is small.
Ian: Modern family cars – Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, VW Golf, Hyundai i30 and now Mazda3 – are the best antidote to SUVs. They all drive efficiently and calmly. I’m going out
