How To Make Reed Diffuser Oil Base – Fragrances create memories. On our wedding day, I wore classic roses scents because I know that every time I smell the flowers, it will remind me of my most important day. Likewise, I want the fragrance in our home to create peace, warmth and love.
I’ve always loved candles and used to burn a handful every night, but now I like setting up reed diffusers around the house. I love how they steal kisses from a room every day and as you walk around the house, their signature appears in every room.

Well, that’s all you need. Remember when I said that 30 dollar diffusers cost a lot… in my case I paid less than a dollar because I used bottles and skewers, which are not expensive. There is no problem.
Note: I recommend that you use a bottle with a narrow neck because it prevents the mixture from evaporating. It’s also pretty good because it holds the cane sticks tightly together and prevents them from falling out in random directions. When choosing a bottle, remember that some essential oils will kill plastic, so a glass bottle is a good choice.
How To Make Reed Diffusers
If you have a clean and shiny bottle with no stickers, you can skip this step (see Materials for more information on bottle requirements).
Personally, I think paying for a bottle is stupid, because I throw away several bottles every month, and paying two dollars for the same product is not very good. Plus, I like to reuse whenever possible and here I have a great opportunity to give new life to an old bottle.
As I said before, the narrower the bottle opening, the better. The narrow bottle prevents the mixture from evaporating and is therefore more efficient. It looks better, and the bottle of beer/soda seems cheaper.
In my case I used an old paint bottle. Most perfume bottles would work, but I don’t have one available. First I removed the sticker – it came off easily, all in one piece. As you can see in the pictures, the sticker has left a sticky residue which is not very nice. To remove it I use acetone based nail polish remover. Do not use a tissue because it will absorb all the acetone that is on it, use a tissue instead.

If you want to create the perfect diffuser, you need to buy a set of diffuser reeds from Amazon. They are not very expensive, about $10 for a set. But for hard workers like me, there is a cheaper and more practical way: you can use bamboo skewers. Many of you may already have one, and everyone knows that a $1 DIY diffuser is better than a half-baked $10 diffuser.

Now, of course, custom factory reed rods work better because that is what they are designed and built for. Skewers should be durable and greaseproof, which is not the main goal. It is your choice, for my good kebab. I think I need to add more essential oils to make the diffuser work…
